FAQ

• What are light-activated skincare serums?

Light-activated serums are skincare formulas specifically designed to be used with LED light therapy. Unlike traditional serums, they are formulated so LED light can pass through the skin effectively while supporting how the skin responds during treatment. When applied before an LED session, these serums help reinforce hydration, barrier function, and targeted skin benefits without interfering with light delivery. This makes them especially useful for people who want more out of the same LED sessions without increasing treatment time.

• Do serums really improve LED light therapy results?

Yes, when the serum is designed to respond specifically to LED light at the cellular level. LED exposure increases cellular energy (ATP) and skin permeability, creating a window where targeted actives can function more efficiently. Light-activated serums are formulated to take advantage of this state by supporting processes like collagen signaling, moisture retention, and barrier repair while treatment is happening. This combination allows LED sessions to work more effectively, leading to more noticeable improvements in skin firmness, clarity, and overall texture.

• Are all serums safe to use with LED light therapy?

Not all serums are suitable for use with LED light therapy. Some traditional formulas can sit too heavily on the skin or contain ingredients that interfere with light penetration during treatment. Light-activated serums are specifically formulated to work alongside LED light rather than block it. Using non-compatible products during LED sessions can reduce treatment efficiency or lead to unpredictable skin responses.

• What LED Esthetics serum should I use with LED light therapy?

The best serum depends on your skin goals and the type of LED treatment you’re using. Brightening-focused sessions pair well with LED Esthetics’ Vitamin C serum for glow and tone, while the Copper Peptide serum is ideal for firmer-looking skin and anti-aging support. For skin that feels stressed, congested, or dehydrated, the Skinbiotics Spirulina Detox serum provides barrier support and calming benefits to restore balance. The RX2 Root Revitalizer hair growth serum is also available to complement red light therapy for scalp treatments, supporting density and reduced shedding.

• How do LED Esthetics serums fit into my LED routine?

Your LED routine stays the same when adding LED Esthetics’ light-activated serums. The only difference is applying the serum to clean, dry skin or scalp before your LED session. The formula should sit lightly on the skin without feeling heavy or occlusive, allowing LED light to pass through effectively during treatment. After your session, apply a moisturizer or cream as usual to support hydration and maintain the skin barrier.
